Fostering a Supportive and Encouraging Atmosphere

Ability Tree First Coast is a faith-based nonprofit led by a dedicated team of educators, caregivers, and committed volunteers rooted in Christian ministry. With a heart for inclusion and family strengthening, they walk alongside children and adults with exceptionalities, including autism, Down syndrome, sensory processing differences, physical disabilities, and other developmental or intellectual needs.

Ability Tree offers supportive programs tailored to families of children and adults with disabilities, including homeschooling resources and personalized guidance, up to three hours of supervised, sensory-friendly playtime, fun and fully inclusive camps, vibrant social groups for youth and adults with disabilities, and encouraging support groups where parents and caregivers can connect and find strength together.

Weekly Enrichment Sessions In a Supervised Environment

Homeschool Connections gives homeschoolers the opportunity to speak with peers and take advantage of enrichment sessions, which are available weekly on Wednesdays,  from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Hangouts and field trips are also available. Times vary, but those interested can find out more information by visiting the Facebook Homeschool Group or their events calendar, which can be found here.

The Stop, Drop & Play program offers parents and caregivers an opportunity to drop off their children with exceptionalities, along with their siblings, for three hours of safe, supervised, and sensory-friendly play. While the kids enjoy structured activities, peer interaction, and caring attention, parents gain valuable time to rest, recharge, and refuel.

Camps for Friendship and Growth

Kids Ability Camp – First Coast is an exciting one-week summer day camp for children from Kindergarten through 3rd grade, offering recreational and educational activities in a joyful, fully inclusive setting. A parallel camp experience is also available for teens in grades 6 through 12, ensuring older participants enjoy age-appropriate fun, friendship, and growth.

Support Groups for Parents

The Parent Hope Support Group provides a warm, understanding space where parents and caregivers can gather regularly to share their journeys, exchange practical insights, offer mutual encouragement, and find renewed hope together.

Mission Statement

The mission of Ability Tree is to come alongside families impacted by disability and equip organizations through recreation, education, support, and training.
