Opportunities for Young Mothers and Elderly Women
Founded in 1997 by former teen mother and Christian leader Lisa Franklin, Alpha Omega Home (AOMH) provides a supportive, nurturing environment for young mothers and older women striving to rebuild their lives. AOMH offers services to empower women and families, including access to clothing, food, and baby supplies, as well as case management, emotional support, spiritual guidance, life skills, parenting education, childcare, legal assistance, and counseling.
To further support low-income families, Alpha Omega Home provides diaper banks, thrift vouchers for its Alpha Omega Thrift Store, and adoption assistance, helping families meet basic needs while navigating the challenges of parenting and life transitions.
Programs and Community-Based Support
The organization is dedicated to helping women achieve self-sufficiency and personal growth through housing, guidance, and community-based support. Central to AOMH’s approach is the G.R.O.W. Housing program, which guides participants through a transformative four-step process: Standing, gaining awareness of what needs to change in your life; Rising, meeting the challenges required to implement change; Opening, embracing new opportunities and growth; and Winning, achieving success and becoming self-sustaining. Through this framework, young mothers and older women receive practical tools and support to address both immediate and long-term needs.
In addition to its residential programs, AOMH operates a thrift store whose proceeds help sustain the organization’s initiatives and expand access to resources.
Transportation When Needed
Transportation assistance at Alpha Omega Home in St. Augustine helps residents maintain consistency and independence throughout their development journey. Reliable transportation services ensure participants can attend medical appointments, counseling sessions, court obligations, job interviews, educational classes, support meetings, and other programs without interruption.
