A Perfect Destination for Community Events and Activities

Elkton's Armstrong Park hosts several events yearly, offering plenty of opportunities for year-round enjoyment. Visitors can take advantage of its playscape for children, a basketball court for sports enthusiasts, and multiple pavilions perfect for gatherings, picnics, or shelter from the weather.

The park also serves as a convenient trailhead for the Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail, making it an ideal spot for cyclists who prefer not to travel the trail's full 19-mile length. This trailhead is 12 miles from the far end of the trail in Putnam County, providing easy access for those wanting a shorter ride or walk.

The paved trail stretches 19 miles and is 12 feet wide, running from its easternmost point at the Vermont Boulevard Trailhead to Palatka. While the trail begins at Vermont Boulevard, it's worth noting that the segment between St. Augustine's Plaza de la Constitución and the first trailhead (about eight miles along State Road 207) does not have a dedicated trail for biking or walking. The trail is suitable for biking, walking, and running, and concludes at Palatka's East River Trailhead.

A Getaway for Families and Outdoor Enthusiasts

Armstrong Park offers a range of amenities, including the multipurpose field and basketball court, a playground for younger guests, three covered pavilions for group activities, restroom facilities, and direct access to the biking trail.
