Offering Personalized Case Management and Support
Founded in 1985 by local churches, Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) offers assistance for residents of Jacksonville's beach communities, with individualized programs for single parents, seniors, individuals living with health conditions, and job seekers. Seniors ages 60 and older can receive assistance with home repairs, grocery delivery, transportation, applying for benefits, and more.
Trained volunteers also help further the organization's mission by assisting with food delivery, medical equipment assistance, yard cleanup, and other services. To be eligible for the program, seniors must live within Beam's service area and be 60 years old or older. For more information, contact melissa@jaxbeam.org.
Empowering Single Mothers with Education and Job-Training Opportunities
BEAM's Single Parent Program is designed to support low-income single mothers by providing personalized case management to foster financial independence and long-term stability. Participants receive guidance on budgeting, credit management, saving strategies, and debt reduction, equipping them with the tools to make informed financial decisions and improve their overall quality of life.
In addition to financial education, the program connects single mothers with access to certificate and job training programs that help build valuable skills for the workforce. These opportunities increase employability, open doors to higher-paying jobs, and create pathways for career advancement. The Single Parent Program empowers mothers to build a more secure and sustainable future for themselves and their families by addressing immediate challenges and long-term goals.
