Providing High-Quality Programming
For more than four decades, the organization now known simply as EMMA has enriched the cultural life of St. Johns County by presenting world-class music and dance performances for both residents and visitors. Most of these performances take place in the elegant setting of Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, a venue that has become synonymous with EMMA’s high-quality programming.
Dedicated to making the arts both accessible and affordable, EMMA not only showcases renowned performers from around the globe but also invests in the future of the arts through education and outreach. The organization awards scholarships to local students, supports music and dance programs in area schools, and sponsors visiting artists who engage directly with students through workshops and presentations.
Serving as a Cornerstone of the Region's Cultural Community
Founded in 1979 as the Emil Maestre Music Association, named in honor of the distinguished Spanish cellist who retired in St. Augustine, EMMA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Over the years, it has grown from its grassroots beginnings into a cornerstone of the region’s cultural community, continuing to fulfill its mission of bringing exceptional live performances and arts education to St. Johns County.
