Inspiring Future Leaders Through Education and Training
Explorer Post 911 is an immersive youth program hosted by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office that welcomes 40 local residents each year, ages 14 to 21. The program provides a hands-on introduction to careers in the criminal justice system, with a strong focus on education, leadership, and community service. Designed to inspire and prepare future leaders, Explorer Post 911 creates a positive environment where participants can build skills, gain experience, and serve their community.
Cadets have the unique opportunity to participate in ride-alongs with deputies, offering a real-world view of law enforcement in action. They also complete community service hours through outreach projects and events, helping them develop civic responsibility and community pride. In addition, participants may represent the program in state and national competitions, where they showcase their law enforcement knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills.
Explorer Post 911 meets every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office headquarters, located at 911 Law Enforcement Way, St. Augustine, FL 32092.
