Teaching Fundamental Golf Skills To The Youth
First Tee - North Florida offers expert coaching for golf activities for youth ages 5 to 17. Programs include junior membership, weekly classes, camps, tournaments, Girls' Golf, Golf 101, afterschool classes, school programs, scholarships, and special events.
Through its programs, First Tee also teaches life lessons, instilling values like integrity, perseverance, and respect that children carry with them beyond the course.
Junior Membership and Weekly Classes
The Junior Membership program gives youth access to First Tee – North Florida’s classes, tournaments, and special events while providing added golf benefits. Members receive goodies such as a bag tag, a polo shirt, and course access cards for golf courses. Privileges such as reduced-cost play opportunities, discounts, and year-round programming are available.
Weekly Classes combine skill development with character-building and life skills education. Classes are offered at multiple golf courses throughout North Florida, and are led by trained coaches and mentors who provide age-appropriate instruction.
Camps and Tournaments
First Tee camps provide a fun, safe environment where youth learn the foundations of golf while participating in activities that reinforce life skills and personal development. Camps are offered at several locations throughout the year, which helps youth connect with others and build their confidence while playing golf.
The Calvin Peete Tournament Series offers structured competitive golf opportunities for junior players of varying ages and skill levels. Participants compete in age-based divisions, earn season-long points toward standings and championship events, and gain experience in golf rules and learn the importance of good sportsmanship.
LPGA/USGA Girls Golf and Lessons with a Coach
Girls Golf provides girls-only golf classes, camps, events, and mentorship opportunities. The program connects participants with female coaches and professionals while offering leadership development opportunities.
Playing The Course 101 allows participants to learn directly through instruction from a First Tee coach. These sessions focus on course management, decision-making, and game improvement while actively playing the sport.
After-School Programs and Special Events
After-School Programs partner with local schools to introduce students to golf and life skills through convenient on-campus and off-campus classes. Students learn golf fundamentals, games, and activities.
Lastly, Special Events offer leadership development programs, career exploration opportunities, networking experiences, tournaments, community engagement activities, and educational experiences.
