Supporting Wounded Warriors and Active Members of the National Guard

Established in 1983, the Florida National Guard Foundation is a proud direct support organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the armed forces while providing financial assistance to those who serve. Financial aid is offered on a case-by-case basis to address the immediate and urgent needs of Guard members and their families.

Elgibility

To qualify, applicants must be current members of the Florida National Guard and begin the process by contacting their unit’s Family Assistance Coordinator (FAC) or Family Readiness Coordinator (FRC). These coordinators help guide service members through the application process, ensuring that support is accessible when it is most needed.

Assistance often covers expenses such as food, fuel, childcare, utilities, vehicle repairs, medical care, prescriptions, and insurance, resources that help stabilize families during times of challenge or deployment. To download the financial assistance application, please visit here.

Offsetting Educational Expenses Through Its Initiatives

Beyond financial assistance, the Foundation is invested in the future of Guard families through its scholarship program. By raising millions of dollars, the organization has helped offset the costs of higher education for countless National Guard members and their children. Scholarships are awarded to applicants who are either retirees of the Florida National Guard or children of current members.

Elgibility

Eligible students must be in good academic standing while pursuing a high school diploma, vocational certification, or degree from a college or university. These scholarships enable families to pursue educational goals without the full burden of cost.

Ensuring Dependents of Guard Members Have Access to Supplies

Lastly, the National Guard Foundation extends its commitment to education by providing school supplies, such as pens, pencils, backpacks, and notebooks, to students in need. By removing these fundamental financial barriers, the Foundation helps ensure that children of Guard members are fully equipped to succeed in the classroom.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Foundation is to provide support to the men and women of the Florida National Guard in times of emergencies and deployments. To honor and assist those Soldiers and Airmen who have sacrificed their health and well-being for the security of our great State and Nation, and to preserve our rich history so the sacrifices of our Soldiers and Airmen are not forgotten.
