Improving Public Safety Through Diverse Initiatives

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) was established in 1915 by Delbert Nagle and Martin Toole in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The FOP serves as a network for law enforcement professionals, welcoming not only police officers but also correctional officers into its ranks. Its mission revolves around improving public safety and strengthening the bond between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Since its inception, the FOP experienced remarkable growth, boasting over 325,000 members nationwide. Lodge #117 was established in St. Augustine, Florida, on May 5, 1977. The Medical Examiner's Office donated to the lodge, which became a hub for local law enforcement officers to gather, share experiences, and collaborate on matters of public safety.

Fostering Camaraderie Through Special Events

In 2002, Lodge #117 relocated, allowing for the installation of upgraded technology and facilities, including a shooting range. This range provides members with a secure environment to practice their skills and discuss shared interests in law enforcement and public safety. Beyond its social and professional network, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge hosts special events and workshops focusing on issues related to workforce safety.

Assisting Members in Navigating the Challenges of Modern Policing
