Building Meaningful Futures and Promoting Long-term Independence

Goodwill Industries embodies the belief that professional advancement is achievable through community-driven action and accessible support services. By providing individuals with resources such as career development, training, and employment programs, Goodwill helps people build meaningful futures and achieve long-term independence.

With more than 40 locations across the United States, the organization supports over 140,000 people in securing employment annually, while millions more benefit from its range of career-building services.

Connecting with Local Employers and Workforce Development Partners

Goodwill empowers job seekers with the tools they need to succeed in today’s workforce. Participants can create and refine résumés, explore new career paths, complete job applications, prepare for interviews, earn industry-recognized certifications, engage in apprenticeship opportunities, and connect with local employers and workforce development partners.

Goodwill also offers specialized programs for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and people reentering the workforce after incarceration. In addition to direct employment services, Goodwill helps job seekers connect with major corporate partners such as Amazon, Google, and others, expanding access to high-quality jobs in competitive industries.

Supporting Families and Diverting Usable Goods from Landfills

Beyond workforce development, Goodwill operates a robust network of thrift stores that help to support its mission. These stores accept donated items, which include furniture, clothing, electronics, and household goods, and resell them to fund job training and community programs. Goodwill supports families and individuals in need and promotes environmental sustainability, diverting millions of pounds of usable goods from landfills each year.
