Offering Financial Assistance to Ensure Continued Access to Medical Care
Since its establishment in 1998, the Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) has been a cornerstone of support and advocacy for individuals living with HIV and AIDS across Northeast Florida. One of the key programs offered is the Health Insurance Premium Assistance Program (HIPAP), which provides financial support to help individuals maintain access to medical care.
Empowering Individuals Through Focused Program Support
Through HIPAP, eligible participants can receive up to $800 per month to assist with the cost of medical insurance premiums. In addition to premiums, the program can help cover certain out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductibles and co-pays, easing the financial burden often associated with ongoing HIV treatment.
It is important to note that HIPAP is only available to individuals who have tested positive for HIV or AIDS and does not extend coverage to family members or dependents. This targeted support ensures that those directly affected by the virus have access to the care and resources they need to manage their health effectively.
