Collecting Essential Items for Students In Need
Hugs Across the County (HUGS), a community-driven initiative in St. Johns County, brings together passionate volunteers, local partners, and school district staff with a shared mission: supporting students facing hardship. These individuals contribute their time, energy, and resources to collect and distribute items, including food, clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies, helping break the cycle of hunger and homelessness.
Mission Statement
Hugs Across the County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in St. Johns County, Florida. Our mission is to raise awareness throughout the County about student poverty right here in our community. We also work closely with school counselors and student services staff to identify needs, raise funds, support students in crisis, organize St. Johns County neighbors to work together to assist our youngest residents, and provide classroom volunteers and mentors to Title 1 schools that serve more than 80 percent of students on free and reduced-price meal programs.
