Helping Participants to Advance Their Career

Job Corps is a free career training program for students aged 16 to 24, designed to help participants advance their careers through hands-on apprenticeship and in-person training. With more than 120 campuses across the United States, students can enroll in programs ranging from eight months to three years, gaining skills in fields such as manufacturing, carpentry, nursing assistant, clinical medical assistant, computer technician, electrical technician, HVAC, facilities maintenance, material handling and distribution operations, office administration, and pharmacy technician.

Manufacturing and Healthcare Programs

The manufacturing production program provides students with advanced certification while teaching them to read blueprints and schematics, assemble parts with machinery, and understand AC/DC systems. Graduates may also earn credentials through the American Welding Society (AWS) or the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). The carpentry program teaches students to measure, cut, and install materials.

The nurse’s assistant program covers patient care basics, including dressing, bathing, feeding, and overall care, with graduates earning a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. The clinical medical assistant program trains students to record patient histories, check vital signs, assist with exams, draw blood, and support patient care in clinics, hospitals, and other facilities, with certification opportunities for Clinical Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or Electrocardiogram Technician roles.

Computer Technician and Maintenance Programs

Students in the computer technician program learn to maintain and repair operating systems, troubleshoot network software issues, and work with mobile devices. The electrical pre-apprentice program covers installation and repair of electrical systems, with pathways to freelance or full-time work.

Facilities maintenance students learn to maintain and repair machinery, earning credentials from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). HVAC students gain knowledge in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems, along with an OSHA certification.

Programs in material handling and distribution operations teach students to purchase, transport, store, and organize goods efficiently. Office administration provides skills in scheduling, invoice preparation, and other business operations. The pharmacy technician program instructs students in measuring, mixing, and verifying medications, preparing them for professional roles in pharmacy operations.

Shaping Success Beyond Education

Beyond training and certification, Job Corps offers additional benefits, including free housing, meals, healthcare, a living allowance, and assistance with job placement.
