Dedicated to Protecting Children and Promoting Healthy Parent-Child Relationships
Since its establishment in 2002 by the Junior Service League, Kids' Bridge has provided support to over 2,000 families, offering a safe and nurturing environment for children navigating challenging family transitions. As a supervised family visitation center, Kids' Bridge protects children, preventing domestic violence, and promoting healthy parent-child relationships during periods of separation or legal conflict.
At the heart of its mission is the Visit Supervisor, a trained volunteer or staff member who oversees each visit or child exchange. These supervisors ensure that all interactions are safe and positive, facilitating a smooth and secure transfer of children between parents.
For families that don't require supervision but still need structure, monitored exchange services are available to support respectful and conflict-free transitions.
Helping Children and Families Open Up and Share Their Emotions
Kids' Bridge also offers specialized programs to promote healing and education. The Kids Bridging Divorce class, open to the public, helps children cope with the impact of their parents' divorce and build emotional resilience in a safe and compassionate setting.
To address the cycle of domestic violence, the Project Promise & Change program provides intervention for former abusers. Participants learn to manage anger, become accountable for their decisions, and, when applicable, navigate co-parenting and divorce. Those interested in services or support are encouraged to contact the center.
