Empowering Participants for Personal Growth
With locations in Trinidad, Tobago, Ocala, and Ponte Vedra Beach, The Morris Center empowers children and adults living with learning challenges such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Founded in 1986, the center offers assessments, therapy, an Intensive Empowerment Program (IEP), educational services, and summer camps, all designed to help participants achieve long-term progress and personal growth.
Providing Assessments and Support for Speech and Communication
Based on more than 30 years of behavioral treatment and neuroscience research, The Morris Center integrates therapy and evidence-based treatment into all programs, supported by certified professionals. Assessments and testing help families understand their child’s unique needs and guide the creation of personalized action plans to promote academic and developmental success.
Therapy is provided by psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists, each addressing specific areas of need. Psychologists offer assessments, diagnoses, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and social-emotional support. Speech-language pathologists work with students who struggle with speech delays, communication challenges, reading, and language development, while occupational therapists support fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
Helping Students Achieve Their Academic Potential
The Intensive Empowerment Program (IEP) serves students aged six and older, providing two to six sessions per day, five days a week. This program focuses on reading, writing, math, attention, and communication skills, helping students develop the tools they need to succeed academically and socially. The Morris Center Academy offers a structured, small-class environment for Kindergarten through 6th grade, emphasizing writing, reading, spelling, and emotional development.
This short-term program ensures students can return to their regular school within the year, and tutoring services are also available. Summer camps provide an opportunity for children to continue learning in a fun and engaging environment. Students build reading skills, gain confidence, and enjoy structured activities that reinforce their academic and personal development, making the summer both productive and enjoyable.
