Serving as a Safe, Judgement-Free Resource
Initially beginning with just 11,000 calls, the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) has grown into a nationwide lifeline, now making more than 125,000 connections annually to support youth in crisis. Operating as a 24/7 confidential hotline, NRS serves as both a crisis intervention service and a safe, judgment-free resource for young people facing difficult situations.
The Safeline assists youth who may be considering running away, are already away from home, or are struggling with issues such as family conflict, abuse, neglect, homelessness, or exploitation.
Mission Statement
The mission of the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) is to keep America’s runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth safe and off the streets.
