Offering Free Bike Services to Promote Safety

The Old Beach Bike Riders Association (OBBRA) operates every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre,  promoting cycling as a safe, sustainable, and healthy form of transportation. To encourage more residents in St. Augustine to ride bikes, OBBRA provides free services such as tire inflation, minor adjustments, and safety checks to ensure that bicycles are road-ready. In addition, the group offers bike cleaning and flat tire repair for a small donation, with all proceeds reinvested into refurbishing bicycles and supporting its bike donation program.

Creating Opportunity and Independence Through Its Programs

OBBRA’s donation program enables children, families, and vulnerable individuals to travel to school, commute to work, and participate in community activities that they might otherwise be unable to access. Beyond mobility, these bikes represent opportunity, independence, and connection, improving the quality of life for many in need.

Over the years, OBBRA has partnered with and supported a variety of local organizations, including The Veterans’ Village, St. Francis House, Port in the Storm, and others. Through these partnerships, the association extends its impact, ensuring that bicycles reach individuals and groups who benefit most from the freedom and practicality that cycling provides.
