Supporting People Through Mental Health and Life Challenges

Pay What You Can Peer Support (PWYCPS) is an organization dedicated to removing barriers to mental health support by providing a positive, empathetic, and peer-driven environment. PWYCPS offers support groups for individuals coping with mental illness, allowing participants to share their experiences, express their emotions, and connect with others who face similar challenges.

By offering a free-to-low-cost service, PWYCPS ensures that financial constraints do not prevent anyone from accessing mental health support. Sessions are held virtually, providing a safe and accessible space for participants to discuss their diagnoses, personal struggles, and coping strategies.

Combining Personal Insight with Professional Knowledge

The organization’s board members, staff, and moderators bring a wealth of expertise, drawing from lived experience with mental illness or addiction, as well as professional backgrounds including licensed psychiatry, counseling, and other mental health specialties. This combination of personal insight and professional knowledge creates an environment that is both compassionate and informed, fostering trust and understanding among participants.

PWYCPS offers weekly group sessions that focus on specific topics and challenges. These include support for ADHD, autism, childhood sexual abuse, depression, loneliness, trauma and PTSD, LGBTQ+ experiences, narcissistic/abuse survivor support, intrusive thoughts, seniors, anxiety and stress, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, chronic pain, living with a learning disability, and more. Additionally, specialized groups such as a writing group provide creative outlets for self-expression and personal growth.
