Developing Nutrition-Focused Plans for Managing Chronic Illnesses
Since its founding in 1998, the Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) has served as a source of support and advocacy for individuals living with HIV and AIDS throughout Northeast Florida. The Positive Nutrition Program promotes health, wellness, and mindful eating for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
This program offers a nutrition care plan, including medical nutrition therapy, to address underlying conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses that can impact overall health and quality of life.
Promoting Lifelong Wellness
Beyond medical support, Positive Nutrition emphasizes practical and educational resources to empower clients in making healthier lifestyle choices. Participants have access to educational sessions, interactive nutrition workshops, cooking demonstrations, and gardening classes, all aimed at building knowledge and skills for long-term wellness.
In addition, individual nutrition counseling helps clients develop sustainable eating habits and strategies to support their treatment and overall well-being.
