Offering a Range of Support and Training Services
Serving Clay, Duval, and St. Johns counties, PossAbilities Plus empowers individuals with exceptionalities by providing opportunities to gain workforce experience, develop skills, and foster connections within their communities. The organization works closely with families, offering guidance and resources to ensure that their loved ones have access to training and support services.
These include on-the-job skill development, assistance in navigating school resources, support in understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), college tutoring, and homeschool evaluations. In addition to workforce training, PossAbilities Plus offers workshops and enrichment programs designed to promote independence, creativity, and personal growth.
Participants can engage in life skills development, drama club, sports and leisure activities, music therapy, and hands-on creative projects such as repurposing and crafting items. These programs provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where individuals can learn, socialize, and build confidence while exploring their interests and talents.
Kitchen Management and Hands-On Retail Training
The Cup of Dreams Tearoom, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a capacity of 21 participants, offers a six-week training program where individuals learn food safety, sanitation, cooking, hosting, serving, and kitchen management. The PossAbilities Unique Boutique program provides participants with comprehensive, hands-on retail training in a real store environment. Individuals learn skills such as greeting and assisting customers, answering phone calls, processing sales transactions, and managing purchases. They also gain experience behind the scenes by organizing donations, staging merchandise for display, pricing items, and creatively repurposing goods for sale.

Helping Individuals With Exceptionalities Learn About Agriculture and Have Social Experiences
The Secret Garden provides hands-on horticulture training led by Master Gardeners, offering participants the opportunity to learn valuable agricultural and environmental skills. Participants are taught how to care for plants from seed to harvest, including watering, pruning, soil preparation, and pest management. In addition to learning how to grow and harvest produce, individuals also gain experience in sorting, packaging, and preparing agricultural goods for distribution or sale. Lastly, participants can build social and networking skills through SocialAbilities, a program designed to foster connection, confidence, and community. SocialAbilities provides a welcoming, inclusive environment where individuals ages 14 and older can take part in interactive activities, group games, and guided social experiences that encourage communication and relationship-building.
The program is offered in person from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., allowing participants to meet peers, form friendships, and engage in structured activities that support social growth. For those who prefer remote participation or need additional flexibility, SocialAbilities also meets virtually every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.
