Making Music Education Accessible

Sacred Music Academy provides free, quality music education to children and teens from under-resourced families who demonstrate musical curiosity and a potential interest or gift for music. The program is designed to remove financial barriers that can prevent young people from accessing private music instruction and other opportunities to develop their musical abilities.

Students receive individualized instruction from experienced music educators and professional musicians in the St. Augustine area. Lessons currently include piano, voice, violin, organ, and other instruments, giving students the opportunity to explore music while developing technical skills, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the art.

Developing Young Musicians

Sacred Music Academy takes a student-centered approach to music education. Instructors work with each child to understand their individual musical interests and goals while building a strong foundation in musical fundamentals.

The Academy's faculty includes accomplished performers, educators, and music professionals who bring extensive experience in areas including piano, strings, voice, organ, and choral music. Students are encouraged to grow not only as musicians but also as individuals through instruction, performance, fellowship, and mentorship.

Removing Financial Barriers

The Academy was created with the goal of making meaningful music education accessible to families who might otherwise be unable to afford private lessons. Rather than requiring a traditional musical audition, interested students are invited to participate in an interview process designed to identify children who are curious about music and interested in learning.

The program provides an opportunity for students to discover and develop their musical abilities regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Through continued instruction and performance opportunities, students can build skills and confidence that extend beyond their musical studies.

Building Community Through Music

Sacred Music Academy is an outreach program of Memorial Presbyterian Church and is supported by community partners and donors. The Academy's long-term vision is to grow into a permanent music conservatory in St. Augustine offering free pre-professional music training through private lessons, group instruction, orchestra, and choir.

Families interested in the program are encouraged to contact the Academy to schedule an interview and learn more about eligibility and available opportunities.
