Assisting Residents and Visitors

Maintaining public safety, the St. Augustine Police Department serves the community of St. Augustine as its primary municipal law-enforcement agency. The department enforces state and local laws while working to maintain order throughout the city. Its responsibilities include overseeing crowd and event management, providing residential policing, and assisting both residents and visitors.

Through routine patrols, criminal investigations, and a visible presence throughout the city, officers work to deter and address offenses such as theft, fraud, assault, and other criminal activity.

Collaborating with Local Businesses, Nonprofits, and Schools

Community engagement is also an important part of the department’s work. Officers collaborate with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and residents to promote safety awareness and strengthen partnerships across the community. These collaborations support educational efforts and help guide public safety initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the city.

Mission Statement
