Reconnecting Pets and Owners

St. Johns County Animal Control operates seven days a week and safeguards animals and people. Its dedicated team responds swiftly to reports of abandoned, stray, or aggressive animals, working to capture and safely transport them to the St. Johns County Pet Center. There, animals are either rehomed through adoption efforts or reunited with their original families when possible.

They also enforce local animal ordinances, such as leash laws, to ensure that pets are responsibly managed and do not pose a risk to others in the community.

Nurturing a Spirit of Kindness and Accountability

Beyond enforcement and rescue operations, St. Johns County Animal Control strongly emphasizes public education. They engage with residents to promote responsible pet ownership, offering resources and information that help reduce neglect, abandonment, and unsafe handling incidents.

The department also forms partnerships with schools, local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to support their mission and foster a culture of compassion, responsibility, and safety throughout the community.

Mission Statement

First and foremost, we are public servants. Protecting people from animals and animals from people.
