Assistance with Applying for SNAP, Temporary Cash Assistance, and Medicaid

As an ACCESS Florida Community Partner in collaboration with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), St. Johns County Social Services helps individuals and families apply for public assistance programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), and Medicaid.

Staff members are trained to assist applicants in understanding program requirements, gathering documentation, and submitting accurate and complete applications. This support helps reduce errors and ensures that applications are processed as efficiently as possible.

Assisting Residents with Case Status Updates and Personal Information Changes

In addition to personalized assistance, applicants can access various helpful resources, including brochures, paper applications, and access to office equipment such as telephones, fax machines, computers, printers, and copiers. Residents may also receive help checking the status of existing cases, updating personal information, or submitting verification documents.

To protect client privacy and comply with state and federal guidelines, individuals seeking assistance must sign a written release of information before services can be provided. This consent allows Social Services staff to view and discuss case-specific details to offer the most accurate and practical support.

Mission Statement

The mission of the St. Johns County Social Services is to reduce social and economic dependency by providing a bridge of interim assistance and other available services to qualified individuals and families who are residents of St. Johns County.
