Helping Veterans Transition From Crisis To Stability
Veterans Village of Northeast Florida (VVNEFL) is in the planning stages. The project will focus on veteran homelessness by creating a supportive tiny-house community of safe, affordable housing within a structured village environment that includes private living spaces along with shared community facilities such as central care centers with kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, and living areas, along with additional housing options for families, couples, and women veterans in need of safe shelter.
A Support System Offering Resources and Services
Veterans Village will serve as a full-service supportive environment offering on-site access to medical care and urgent health services through an on-site clinic, mental health support, substance use recovery resources, employment readiness and job training assistance. The community will also include a food support system, clothing resources, transportation within the village, and animal care services such as a vet clinic and pet support for veterans with service animals or companions.
Fostering Community Connection
The village model incorporates long-term stabilization supports through workforce integration, skill-building programs, and pathways to independent living, while fostering community connection through shared spaces, memorial areas honoring veterans, and opportunities for storytelling and engagement.
