Helping Women Transition from Addiction, Homelessness, or Incarceration

The Women’s Refuge of St. Johns County serves as a safe and nurturing haven where women from all walks of life can recover from trauma, find healing, and transform their futures. Rooted in Christian principles, the Refuge offers women a place to rebuild their lives, especially those transitioning from addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, or incarceration.

At the heart of the program are Bible-based teachings led by Christian professionals who guide participants through a wide range of life-enriching courses. These include forgiveness and anger management, financial literacy, job training, GED and college preparation, physical fitness, nutrition, and drug prevention. Every aspect of the program is designed to help women grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

Throughout the program, women become part of a supportive community, connecting with others who have endured similar struggles. These relationships foster encouragement, accountability, and lasting bonds that continue well beyond their time in the program.

Upon completion, each woman receives a certificate recognizing her commitment and growth. Graduates are also encouraged to remain involved with the Refuge, offering mentorship, support, or service to those just beginning their journey of renewal.
